COVID-19

Dear All

It is with regret that we have to inform you we have made the difficult decision to close our cottages to visitors for the next few weeks in response to COVID-19.

Initially we will close until the end of April and we will review on a rolling 4-6 week look forward basis until the summer as necessary.

We have a duty of care to you our guests, to our cleaning teams and to the other helpers on Ardmaddy Estate; as well as to the local community and to our local healthcare services. Therefore in these difficult times we feel it is our social responsibility to take this action to limit the risks of cross-infection in both directions, reduce the burden on the local food supply chain and critically on our local healthcare system.

One of our local MSP’s Katy Forbes has just publicly requested that visitors cease and desist from coming on planned visits to the Highlands and the UK government guidance is to avoid all unnecessary travel nationally.

We sincerely hope you will rebook for a later date, when the world as we know it has returned to something more normal. Please coordinate with Jan Wolfe, our cottage manager, who would be very happy to help you do that - either for later in the year or next year, subject to availability.

We wish you good health in these trying times and hope you understand and agree with the necessity of us making this difficult decision at this time.

Kind regards

The Struthers Family

Archie Struthers

Welcome to Ardmaddy Holiday Cottages

Ardmaddy Estate sits in a quiet, gentle corner of Argyll on the west coast of Scotland. Whilst within half an hour of the harbour town of Oban and only three hours from Glasgow, once there, you feel as though you are in a different time and space to the rest of the world.

Its quiet tranquility and the utter peace soothes the soul and rest the senses. Its open spaces and magnificent views free the mind. Surrounded by woodland, hills, moors and the sea, Ardmaddy is also a haven for wildlife – from eagles soaring above the hills, to skylarks singing their hearts out and from deer grazing on the hillsides to otters hunting by the shore – there is so much here for you to see and experience.
